Let me introduce myself!
Well, hello there! My name is Katie, and I'm in charge of the inner workings of Sound & Sage Healing. When I'm not working with clients, you will likely find me riding my beautiful horse, Cappy, playing cards with my wonderful husband, Sean, or whipping something delicious up in the kitchen. I love to cook I love to sing, and I love to be in and around nature. Especially the forest, there is something so familiar about the tall trees, the soft grass, and the mystery of what kinds of critters are all around me.
I am lucky enough to be able to hustle hard and own my practice, where I have the privilege of practicing my personal and professional philosophy: Holistic Health! I have a strong passion for my work; holding space for an individual (whether furry or not) to heal and shift through whatever is blocking them. For the past couple of years I’ve immersed myself in exploring the wonder and mystery of the Energy Medicine World, becoming a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner in 2016, a Usui Reiki Master in 2018, and Energy Work (Intuitive Counselling, Sound Healing, Frequency Medicine, and Animal Communication) in 2019. My most recent endeavour has been becoming a certified HelioSol Practitioner (2020).
I’m oh so lucky to have three of the best healing assistants, who you may have had the privilege of meeting in person. Sessions wouldn't be the same without them. Let me introduce them to you!

SCOUTI brought Scout, my border collie, home November of 2014. To be honest, it was a totally out of the blue decision. I knew I wanted a dog but didn’t know what to do or where to go! I believe that she found me. She came months before I had planned to get a dog, and the rest is history! It was only months later, might I add, that I was introduced to Energy Work. Coincidence? There are no such things as coincidences!
Scout works alongside me in sessions, either in person, or at a distance. She is highly intuitive, and often holds space for clients to have an emotional release. Sassy, strong-willed and independent, she reminds me daily to set clear boundaries and enjoy the little things in life. Scout's favourite things are agility practice with her "dad", chasing frisbees, and chewing on bully sticks! She has recently started herding lessons, and my goodness she excels. I think working sheep is her favourite activity so far. |
"CAPPY" THE CAPTAINCappy, my beautiful chestnut gelding! Cappy officially joined us in April 2018. Cappy came to me in one of the lowest points of my life, and honestly, he was exactly the rock I needed at the time. Cappy taught me so much about letting go of the past, staying grounded, and healing the inner child, I can’t help but tear up when I think about how far we’ve come.
Cappy loves receiving Reiki, and although he works with my clients energetically, that does not diminish the work that he does. Strong willed, honest, and forgiving, Cappy does immense work and I am so grateful for him. I can only hope that one day I can have a facility where I can bring clients to see him in person! Cappy has recently moved facilities and retired from jumping. He know enjoys letting little ones ride him (we call it "babysitter mode"), trail riding, and snacking on bananas, apples, and carrots. |
TIMBEROur newest, tiniest addition, is Timber! Timber came to us in November of 2019. We were definitely not planning on getting a cat, (let alone a kitten!) but from the first time I saw him I knew he belonged in our family. Timber is strong willed, independent, and definitely a boundary teacher for all. He quickly picked up on how sessions work from his big sister, Scout.
Timber has made leaps and bounds in his own healing journey, as he has overcome major fears over the last year. Still not crazy about meeting new people, if he accepts you as one of the gang, you should feel absolutely honoured! Timber loves to lay on his hammock and watch the birds, he loves to sleep on your neck or chest, and loves to wrestle with Scout. His favourite toys are his little springs, that he chases and hunts for hours! |
